Helping our members successfully navigate through this challenging business environment for almost 50 years.

Our Roots

Pipe tobacco is a smaller segment of the larger tobacco industry but it has a rich history full of traditions which are much older than this country. Over the years and generations, the traditions of the industry have created a unique and committed pipe tobacco culture.

For many, smoking pipe tobacco is a lifelong passionate hobby. Since its inception in 1976, the Pipe Tobacco Council (PTC) has been the leading trade association for the pipe tobacco industry.

Keeping the Industry Strong and Vibrant

Our members are diverse, but they understand the priority and power of working together toward the common cause of keeping the industry strong and vibrant.  Led and guided by an elected Board of Directors, PTC is committed to being the leading voice and advocate to ensure that the pipe tobacco industry remains strong and continues to thrive.

Our Vision

We advance the shared interests and values of our members to ensure that there is always a thriving pipe tobacco industry.

Our Mission

We accomplish our vision by passionately supporting our members, positively promoting the pipe tobacco industry, and using a national network of governmental affairs advocates to protect the consumers and the industry.

Our Purpose

Our purpose is passionately supporting our members by working together to advance traditional pipe tobacco and the industry going forward.
